Selecting Leaders. Finding the men to lead your men's ministry

Answer God's Call! Are you considering an invitation to be a part of a ministry to men, perhaps to lead that ministry? If so, give the request some serious thought and prayer. Christian philanthropist, Hugh O. Maclellan has said, "The greatest need we have in America today is to reach our men. Here is a thumbnail sketch of the condition of men in America.

Lead Men by the Book. The qualities needed for leading your men's ministry found in Joshua 1. Remember that God want to be the leaders of your ministry, but He wants to do it through you.

Men's Ministry in a Small Church. The sole purpose of men's ministry is to produce spiritually healthy men, men who step up to the plate. Granted, it will not happen overnight. The challenge in small churches is gaining traction with small numbers. Do not be overwhelmed by trying to do all the activities the "experts" say you "must" do.  

Leadership Resources. Some suggested resources to help prime you pump. You ma find soem of these or similar resources in your district office or in churches in your district.

Leadership Team Roles and Functions. The functions represented on the local church men's ministry team should be tailored to the needs and size of the church and the maturity of the ministry. Adapt these suggestions based on the men who are available and the needs and direction of your men's ministry.

Lead by Being Real to Your Men. What does it take to be the kind of leader that men will follow? That is a good question. It is the kind of question which keeps men awake at nights, some will reviewing their shortcomings and others lamenting the lack of followers. The answer is simpler than we might think.
